How We Select Hotels

Every hotel featured on Hotels Central America goes through a multi-step evaluation process. We research properties using a combination of on-the-ground visits, verified traveler reviews, official hotel information, and local expert knowledge.

We evaluate hotels on quality of accommodations, location, value for money, unique character, guest service reputation, and sustainability practices. We feature properties across all price ranges, from budget hostels to luxury resorts, because we believe every traveler deserves quality recommendations.

Our Research Process

Our team of regional specialists each focus on specific countries within Central America. They maintain ongoing relationships with local tourism boards, hotel associations, and travel professionals to stay current on property changes, new openings, and closures.

Content is reviewed at least twice per year to verify accuracy of pricing, amenities, contact information, and general hotel status. When travelers report significant changes, we investigate and update our content promptly.

Verification Standards

• Cross-referencing multiple review platforms (Google, TripAdvisor, Booking.com)
• Verifying hotel licensing and registration with local tourism authorities
• Confirming amenities and services through direct communication with properties
• Reviewing recent guest photos and feedback for accuracy
• Checking safety and hygiene standards where information is available

Hotels Central America participates in affiliate programs, including Booking.com. When you book a hotel through our links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This revenue helps us maintain and improve our content.

Our affiliate relationships never influence which hotels we recommend or how we rate them. Hotels cannot pay for featured placement or positive reviews. Our editorial and commercial operations are strictly separated.

Corrections & Updates

We take accuracy seriously. If you find outdated or incorrect information on our site, please contact us at info@hotelescentroamerica.com. We investigate all reports and publish corrections within 48 hours when errors are confirmed.

We maintain a transparent correction policy: significant factual corrections are noted at the top of the affected article, and minor updates (pricing changes, amenity additions) are made silently to keep content current.

Content Independence

All editorial content on Hotels Central America is created independently by our team. We do not accept sponsored content, paid reviews, or advertorial material. Hotel owners and managers may submit their properties for consideration, but inclusion is never guaranteed and is based solely on our editorial criteria.
